TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WWSB) – Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed a death warrant for Daniel O. Conahan Jr., scheduling his execution for 6 p.m. Sept. 10, according to a Florida Supreme Court order issued Tuesday.
The order directs that all further proceedings in Conahan’s case be expedited.
Any pending proceedings in the trial court, along with any new filings, must be completed and orders entered by 11 a.m. Aug. 21, the court said.

The Florida Supreme Court also established an accelerated timeline for any appeal or writ petition that reaches the court. A notice of appeal or writ petition would be due by 1:30 p.m. Aug. 21.
The schedule calls for initial briefs by Aug. 24, answer briefs by Aug. 25 and reply briefs by Aug. 26.
The court said oral argument, if necessary, will be scheduled later.
