Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) won’t stand in the way of a court order that found the wording of a proposed constitutional amendment to cut residential property taxes is legally defective and must be rewritten before it goes to voters in November.
DeSantis, speaking during a press event Thursday, said he is comfortable with the state’s efforts to revise Amendment 3, titled “Save Our Homes From Excessive Property Taxes.” The amendment was crafted by Florida’s Republican-controlled legislature in June after DeSantis requested a special legislative session to address rising property taxes across the state.
