Florida’s Aug. 18 U.S. Senate primaries will determine the major-party nominees for the seat held by appointed Republican Sen. Ashley Moody.
Moody, a former attorney general, circuit judge and federal prosecutor, faces Republicans Chris Gleason, Neelam Taneja Perry and Ernest “Ernie” Rivera.
On the Democratic side, Jacksonville state Rep. Angie Nixon faces retired Lt. Col. Alex Vindman, a former National Security Council official known for his role in Donald Trump’s first impeachment.
Primary winners advance to the Nov. 3 general election.
