Floridians must, and will, elect David Jolly as their next governor.
The soon-departing Ron DeSantis has so severely undermined faith in good and compassionate governance that Florida has become in some ways a national pariah.
The Sun Sentinel rightly recommended that voters not retain Carlos Muñiz on the state Supreme Court. Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo has announced his intention, opposed by most Florida pediatricians, to end vaccination mandates for our school-age children.
Governor Jolly will give Ladapo the boot. He will nominate a moderate replacement for Muñiz.
Jolly as governor will assure some semblance of checks and balance over the too-often reckless Legislature that like his opponent, Byron Donalds, has sworn fealty to a malign Donald Trump.
Donalds has been dismissive of nearly a million Floridians’ desperate need for accessible health care (he supported the Big “Ugly” Bill that, on Jan. 1, will drastically reduce access to health insurance under the ACA and Medicare and Medicaid coverage). Until recently, Donalds consistently repeated Trump’s lies about the myth of affordability.

Palm Beach County’s Republican Party endorsed Mike Caruso, a candidate accused of child sex abuse (the party withdrew the endorsement).
The Palm Beach County Republican Party has just endorsed Florida Republican Mike Caruso, who is running for office after being arrested on allegations of child molestation:

Ashley Moody and James Uthmeier, both embroiled in the Hope Florida scandal, have the full-throated support of the Florida GOP.
The Texas GOP unflinchingly supports Senate candidate Ken Paxton, who has faced allegations of securities fraud, bribery and infidelity. His office offered a sweetheart plea deal to a man who was charged with sexually abusing a boy.
Let’s not forget Texas Republican congressional candidate Brandon Herrera, a Nazi-glorifying, raging misogynist.
This is the party of family values?
I may be a “radical” Democrat, but at least I can look my children in the eye.

Luis Garcia (Democratic House candidate, District 91) is a respected member of this community who has served with pride and dignity. It is time for every Democrat to be in office.
Dump Trump. His supporters just don’t want to hear the truth.
